英語新課程標準指出:“英語課程要面向全體學生,使每個學生都得到充分的發展”,這是新課程標準的基本理念,也是素質教育的出發點。但由于各種原因,進入八年級后,越來越多的學生開始對英語學習不感興趣,學習態度不端正,成績越來越差;而另一部分學生則學習興趣濃厚,學習輕松且成績優異,兩極分化不斷加大。如何處理解決好這一問題,是學生以后能否繼續學好英語的關鍵。
一、原因分析
造成這一現象的原因是多方面的,但總的來說主要有以下幾點:
1.七年級的基礎未打好
現在的學生雖然在小學時就開設了英語課,可是一開始就沒過好字母關,更不用說音標關了。有些學生到現在連26個字母都還不能熟練地會讀會寫,更談不上根據音標拼讀單詞了。到了八年級,既無信心,也無興趣,根本就沒辦法學習。這部分學生往往學習無自覺性,要轉變這部分后進生需要下很大的工夫。
2.教材難度加大,內容增多
新標準下的八年級上冊的教材是初中現行教材中內容最多(這可從詞匯量,教學模塊中看出)、語法最難的一冊。面對驟然增多的詞匯,再加上部分學生的意志力薄弱,許多七年級時的中等生甚至中上的學生都感到記單詞力不從心。由于單詞未掌握扎實,聽課的質量、作業的效果就受到嚴重影響。同時,七年級時,這些學生幾乎每段對話、每篇課文都能背誦,到了八年級,能把課文、對話都背會的是少之又少。沒有了背誦,當然就缺少了必要的語言輸入,其他語言技能的培養和發展都受到了影響。再加上,時態的增多,各種時態間的用法相互混淆。就這樣,許多原來的中等生也慢慢地退步了,進入了英語學困生的行列。
3.教師的教學方法單一陳舊,上課進度過快
在高喊素質教育的今天,由于受到中考指揮棒的影響和學校根據成績給教師排名等各種外界因素給教師造成的壓力。許多教師課堂上忙于講語言點、做練習,卻舍不得花點時間搞些學生感興趣的活動,更不愿嘗試多樣化的新的教學方法,致使學生上課越來越覺得無趣而不喜歡學英語。
4.學生沒有良好的學習習慣和學習策略
有些學生不是學習不夠努力,也不是對學習缺乏熱情,而是學習方法不正確。如不能根據拼寫規則記單詞,而是在死記硬背字母的順序,以至記單詞的速度緩慢;單詞的記憶也不會根據遺忘規律,及時做好復習;對待錯題更不會去分析錯因、深刻體會、反復理解等等。所以,這些學生學得很苦、很累,成績卻上不去,最終還是掉隊了。
二、對策
基于以上分析,為了防止和杜絕兩極分化現象的形成和進一步擴大,筆者認為應該根據兩極分化的成因,對癥下藥:
1.建立學習互助小組

2.教師的教學應注意循序漸進,因材施教
備好課是上好課的前提。在當今知識日新月異的時代,教師要想教好課,就需要不斷地為自己“充電”。然而,教師不但要傳授知識,而且還擔負著發展學生智力、培養學生能力的重任。因此,要提高課堂教學的質量,我們還必須注重學習教育理論,探索教學藝術。在教學過程中,教師要充分了解學生,掌握個性差異,要根據每個學生的基礎和認知能力的實際,確定不同的學習目標。在備課時,要設計難易不同的問題,力求讓每個學生都能成為課堂的主人,都能享受到成功的喜悅,這對提高教學質量大有益處。同時還應及時關注學生的知識掌握情況,隨時調整教學進度,對學生存在的問題要及時給予幫助,千萬不可因趕進度而對學生學的情況置之不理,致使部分學生因不能及時掌握而成績越來越差。
3.采用多樣化的教學手段,激發學生的學習興趣
“興趣是最好的老師”。英語具有很強的交際功能,要求學生反復地模仿,如果學生失去了學習興趣,就會感到枯燥,學習就不主動。為了解決這一問題,筆者認為可以開展豐富多彩的活動,給學生更多實踐英語的機會,如課前學唱英文歌曲、課中開展英語辯論會、講英文故事比賽,課后還可組織學生看英文版的電影等,同時還要利用中學生競爭意識強的特點,多搞一些競賽,如單詞競賽、猜測游戲或配音、演課本劇等來活躍課堂氣氛,激發學生興趣。讓學生在活動中、在娛樂中學英語,既增加了學生實踐英語的機會,提高了聽說讀寫各方面的能力,又使學生在不知不覺中喜歡上英語,這樣教學就能收到事半功倍的效果。
4.注重教學中學習策略的指導
學習策略指學生為了有效地學習和發展而采取的各種行動和步驟。英語學習的策略包括認知策略、調控策略、交際策略和資源策略等。教師應在教學中幫助學生形成適合自己的學習策略。學習策略是靈活多樣的,策略的使用因人、因時、因事而異。在英語教學中,教師要有意識地幫助學生形成適合自己的學習策略,并具有不斷調整自己學習策略的能力,如課前預習的策略,課后復習鞏固的策略,有效記憶單詞的策略,根據遺忘規律及時復習鞏固單詞的策略等。在英語課程實施中,幫助學生有效地使用學習策略,不僅有利于他們把握學習的方向、采用科學的途徑、提高學習效率,而且還有助于他們形成自主學習的能力,為終身學習奠定基礎。由此可見,教師對學生“授之以魚”不如“授之以漁”,教師不再是過去的教書匠,不能再“穿新鞋,走老路”,應及時轉變教育思想,更新教育理念。只有這樣,才能適應新時代的需要。
5.在情感上去親近學生
古人云:“親其師,信其道”。對于英語學困生,教師更應該想方設法多與他們聊聊天,從他們感興趣的話題入手,創設和諧的朋友式的師生關系,讓他們喜歡你,進而“愛屋及烏”也喜歡學你教的英語。另外,在課上或課外多多鼓勵他們,也在學習上給予一定的幫助,讓他們覺得教師是真心為他們好,而且他們是受到教師的特別關心的,這樣他們會對英語學習越來越有勁。
總之,在初中英語教學實踐中,只要采用科學的教學方法,遵循教育規律,注意做到循序漸進和因材施教,同時,教師要堅持面向全體學生,充分調動學生學習的主動性和創造性,注意授人以漁,培養其一定的自學能力,增強他們學習的成功;融洽師生關系,注重情商的培養,就一定能扭轉英語教學中慢、少、差的現狀,走出兩極分化的教學困境,大面積提高教學質量,真正實現從應試教育向素質教育的轉變。 參考文獻
英語新課程標準指出:“英語課程要面向全體學生,使每個學生都得到充分的發展”,這是新課程標準的基本理念,也是素質教育的出發點。但由于各種原因,進入八年級后,越來越多的學生開始對英語學習不感興趣,學習態度不端正,成績越來越差;而另一部分學生則學習興趣濃厚,學習輕松且成績優異,兩極分化不斷加大。如何處理解決好這一問題,是學生以后能否繼續學好英語的關鍵。
一、原因分析
造成這一現象的原因是多方面的,但總的來說主要有以下幾點:
1.七年級的基礎未打好
現在的學生雖然在小學時就開設了英語課,可是一開始就沒過好字母關,更不用說音標關了。有些學生到現在連26個字母都還不能熟練地會讀會寫,更談不上根據音標拼讀單詞了。到了八年級,既無信心,也無興趣,根本就沒辦法學習。這部分學生往往學習無自覺性,要轉變這部分后進生需要下很大的工夫。
2.教材難度加大,內容增多
新標準下的八年級上冊的教材是初中現行教材中內容最多(這可從詞匯量,教學模塊中看出)、語法最難的一冊。面對驟然增多的詞匯,再加上部分學生的意志力薄弱,許多七年級時的中等生甚至中上的學生都感到記單詞力不從心。由于單詞未掌握扎實,聽課的質量、作業的效果就受到嚴重影響。同時,七年級時,這些學生幾乎每段對話、每篇課文都能背誦,到了八年級,能把課文、對話都背會的是少之又少。沒有了背誦,當然就缺少了必要的語言輸入,其他語言技能的培養和發展都受到了影響。再加上,時態的增多,各種時態間的用法相互混淆。就這樣,許多原來的中等生也慢慢地退步了,進入了英語學困生的行列。
3.教師的教學方法單一陳舊,上課進度過快
在高喊素質教育的今天,由于受到中考指揮棒的影響和學校根據成績給教師排名等各種外界因素給教師造成的壓力。許多教師課堂上忙于講語言點、做練習,卻舍不得花點時間搞些學生感興趣的活動,更不愿嘗試多樣化的新的教學方法,致使學生上課越來越覺得無趣而不喜歡學英語。
4.學生沒有良好的學習習慣和學習策略
有些學生不是學習不夠努力,也不是對學習缺乏熱情,而是學習方法不正確。如不能根據拼寫規則記單詞,而是在死記硬背字母的順序,以至記單詞的速度緩慢;單詞的記憶也不會根據遺忘規律,及時做好復習;對待錯題更不會去分析錯因、深刻體會、反復理解等等。所以,這些學生學得很苦、很累,成績卻上不去,最終還是掉隊了。
二、對策
基于以上分析,為了防止和杜絕兩極分化現象的形成和進一步擴大,筆者認為應該根據兩極分化的成因,對癥下藥:
